The interior design concept emphasizes dynamic spatial configurations complemented by contemporary industrial finishes, creating a dialogue between the building’s past and its new educational function. Labs and Learning spaces were programmed to meet HTU’s vision and mission that focuses on a hands-on learning experience. Spaces for learning, discussions, design and making are organized within an intertwined flow allowing for an interactive multidisciplinary environment.
This bridge duet also achieved programmatic connectivity while respecting the established massing and visual rhythm of the Business Park’s architectural ensemble. The university’s functional spaces follow a vertical hierarchy, with the ground floor housing the communal functions, served by the library, cafeteria, and study spaces. This level also includes a central reception area which serves as a nexus, linking all, along with access points to a landscaped exterior terrace.
In the intermediate levels the spaces are dedicated to labs and classrooms. Then the upper levels serve the administrative functions and faculty offices.
